National Womens Equality Day 2025. Congress designated august 26 as “women’s equality day” in 1973 to commemorate the 1920 certification of the 19th amendment to the constitution, granting women the right to vote. International women’s day (march 8) is a global day celebrating the historical, cultural, and political achievements of women.

Now, therefore, be it resolved that the (name of body) will commemorate women’s equality day, august 26th, as a national day celebrating the importance of the women’s suffrage movement and the work to secure. Step forward in solidarity for international women’s day (iwd) 2025 on march 8 to help #accelerateaction.
